Featured Beer: Sierra Nevada Collab with St. Arnold

I was looking forward with great anticipation to this year's Sierra Nevada Beer Camp series. I watched my Instagram feed of West Coast beer bars bragging about flight specials while I hounded our local beer rep, asking when-oh-when do we get some in San Antonio?

Alas, in draft format we could only get one beer from the series.

But if one was all we could get, we hit the jackpot. It's a Dry-Hopped Berliner-Style Weisse and it's a collaboration with Texas brewery St. Arnold

If you're a sour beer fan, you're probably going to love this beer. Every single member of our staff who has tried it has been in love.

Here's some light reading on the Berliner Weisse style of beer.

We've only been able to get two five-gallon kegs of this beer so far (and one of them is already nearly empty), so hurry if you're in San Antonio and want to try it on draft.

Just Tapped: Stone Ghost Hammer IPA

During the week of July 4th we tapped the Stone Ghost Hammer IPA. At the time of this writing, we also have an Enjoy By (Double IPA) from Stone and an Extra Pale Ale (weighing in at a solid 7% ABV) from Knee Deep for hoppy beer options on the board. It sometimes makes me nervous to have three hoppy beers on at once, but then I sometimes wish I could use all 12 taps for hoppy beer.

The Ghost Hammer is 6.7% ABV and is dry-hopped with Loral hops (pictured above), which are noted for their floral/citrus/fruity/herbal flavor profiles.

This is definitely going to be my go-to beer after long, hot San Antonio evenings serving pizza and cocktails.
